Boehringer Ingelheim Hires and Promotes Swine Team Members

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (January 11, 2007) – Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., (BIVI) swine division announces the following additions and promotions to its sales and professional services staffs.

Brian Hotze has been promoted to regional manager. He has 19 years of extensive animal health research and sales experience, the last nine years spent with BIVI focusing on swine vaccines. As regional manager, Hotze is responsible for key customer accounts and will utilize his experience and team management skills. He is based in Altoona, Iowa.

Paul Skartvedt has joined BIVI as swine sales manager for eastern Iowa. His swine industry experience includes positions at Nelson Laboratories, ProPig.com and Vigortone Ag Products. Skartvedt resides in Radcliffe, Iowa.

Brent Green has joined BIVI as swine sales manager for corporate accounts including Premium Standard Farms, Seaboard Farms and Tyson Foods. Green has extensive international experience including international sales in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. He will reside in Baldwin City, Kan.

“Offering our customers an expanded swine team with added sales support and other resources continues to be a top priority for the company, so we are excited to promote Brian and welcome the other members to the team,” says David Gocken, national sales manager for the BIVI swine division.

Dr. Edgar Diaz, previously professional services manager with Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) Mexico, has joined the U.S. swine team as technical manager for porcine circovirus. Dr. Diaz has been with BI Mexico since 1997 and has extensive experience in swine disease management, research and education. He is based in St. Joseph, Mo.

Dr. Tom Painter has joined the BIVI swine team as a professional services veterinarian. Dr. Painter has tremendous swine knowledge and experience, working the past 12 years with Nebraska Pork Partners (NPP). Prior to NPP, he served as technical veterinarian for Continental Grain/Wayne Feeds. He also worked in a mixed animal practice in Warrensburg, Mo., following graduation from the University of Illinois.
